June 2024 - Donation of Tablets and Scholarship to Top Students in El Caimito

The Fundacion Caimito City continues to support educational endeavors in the community. This year, again, we gifted the most dedicated of the students a small token of appreciation that shows that we care and want them to continue exceling in their studies. The students were chosen by the teachers and directors of the Junior and High School in El Caimito Afuera: Professor Federico Muñoz and Olimpia Acevedo de Almanzar and El Caimito Adentro: Centro Educativo Caimito Adentro. In all 25 students were selected. These 25 children were the MOST outstanding students of the 2023-2024 school year that just ended. We hope that this small gift continues to motivate both the winning student, as well as the rest of the student body to make an effort and dedicate themselves to a stellar academic careers. In addition, Fundacion Caimito City granted our second annual “Estudiante Meritorio” award to the best and most qualify student from El Centro Educativo del Nivel Secundario Cardenal Karol Jozef Wojtyla. Among the qualifications for the award is that recipient will continue his/her studies in purse of a college degree. This year’s winner received $50,000 pesos.

This year, my family (Carolina (VP and board member), Marc, Williamcito) and I had the pleasure of being part of the event. My sister in-law and FCC board member Angela Munguia accompanied us also. We were extremely happy to see firsthand the joy of the kids when they received their gifts.

As always, we would like to thank all the people who with their contributions make activities like these possible; especially my coworkers at New York Life Insurance Company for their continued support to the FCC, and our friend Dr. Jeff Stewart, who once again was one of the main sponsors of this event. We also want to thank the principals of the three middle schools (Jose Fernandez, Fanny Mercedes Arias, Emilio Jose Peña Lopez) and El Centro Educativo del Nivel Secundario Cardenal Karol Jozef Wojtyla (Maria Alejandra Perez); along with all the teachers involved. Thank you for dedicating your lives to such a humble and noble profession and thank you for all the work you did to make this activity a great success.

Lastly, we cannot thank enough the FFC volunteers and coordinators (Angela, Bertico, Alfaquenis, Ana, Alexandra, Daruin, y Bertico de la defense civil). As we have always said, without you this would not be possible. Thank you for dedicating your time to the FCC and activities like these. Thank you for working and coordinating with the staff of the Educational Centers to make this activity so successful.

This is one of the most satisfying and exhilarating activities the FCC performs. We hope to continue counting on your support to do it again in 2025 and for many years to come.
